The Foundations Preschool curriculum is not only approved by the Department of Education, which aligns and exceeds the pre-k standards with Clark County School District, but provides a wide range of programs that aide in age-appropriate development. Our curriculum is flexible to accommodate state standards while remaining open to children’s ideas, interests, and questions. We use an anti-bias lens that focuses and builds your child’s awareness from self to friend to family and community.

Infants have a specific curriculum designed to help with developmental learning as they begin to make connections with the objects and people around them. We leverage Frog Street Infant, a comprehensive program that aligns to Head Start School Readiness Goals for Infants, which optimizes key windows of opportunity to build strong foundations for little ones up to 18 months old.

Our toddler curriculum is full of fun and interactive lessons that tap into your child’s creative and intellectual side. From creating artistic paintings to reading, we’ll help your toddler explore what they’re passionate about, and perhaps help them discover new and exciting interests as well. Cognitive development, emotional and social awareness, communication building and self expression are all elements of this curriculum.

For those children in preschool, Foundations Preschool aligns with the Pre K Standards for Nevada and QRIS Silver State Stars. Our curriculum involves our teachers helping your child build the skills and confidence needed for continuing education. This includes understanding simple math and science, pretend play, and group play to help familiarize them with what a structured school setting will be like. Our accelerated pre-k curriculum helps prepare your child for kindergarten and beyond. Your child will practice language, math, science, Spanish, and social skills through hands-on learning, interactivity and playtime.

Preschool STEM

STEM is an acronym that stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Preschool STEM is a story time, geared at preschoolers ages 3-6, which explores Science, Engineering and Mathematical concepts through picture and nonfiction books, games and related hands-on-activities. Technology is also utilized in the Preschool STEM program, but due to the age of the participants, it is not as much of a focus as Math, Science and Engineering. Parents are expected to actively participate with their children throughout the program.

Curriculum Coordinators

Our in-house curriculum coordinators specifically designed our age appropriate curriculum to meet the needs of children from infants to pre-k.

For example, beginning in our infant classroom we implement the use of baby yoga, sign language, and vocabulary. During our feeding and diaper changing times we offer an array of educational songs in conjunction with small finger play toys that utilize fine motor skills.

For our toddler program our curriculum coordinators created a busy schedule made up of many educational and developmental activities that the children enjoy. Some aspects of the toddler program curriculum include music and movement time, sensory play, and art time. During music and movement time you will find our toddlers exploring their creativity through dance and play while continuously developing their growing motor skills. While at sensory time the children are able to stimulate their senses while they play, create, and investigate which is a key ingredient in children’s development, cognitively, linguistically, socially, and emotionally. At art time children are able to create works of art while at the same time expanding their knowledge and imagination.

For our preschool and pre-k accelerated programs, our in-house curriculum coordinators developed a research-based early childhood model for teachers that combine professional development with a comprehensive innovative curriculum that helps young children to develop the cognitive, social-emotional, self-regulatory, and foundational academic skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.

Getting Fully Prepared

Our preschool program ranging in ages 3 to 5 years, with its kindergarten readiness curriculum will ensure that your child is fully prepared for the next step in their education. With the use of directed centers, child assessments, and small literacy groups you can be assured that your child’s education is growing with them. During directed centers children have the opportunity to explore the many centers of the classroom. These centers include many aspects which are designed to help your child grow socially, emotionally and developmentally.

Our student assessments are routinely fulfilled three times per year. Through assessments you will be able to see the vast progress of your child’s education, while also developing a strong relationship with your child’s teacher. Small literacy groups which are practiced twice daily include small reading groups, the use of educational games, and writing groups. We believe that the use of smaller group sizes help to better focus the children on the task at hand.
